Evaluation Criteria
Applications for funding through the Clean School Bus program will be primarily based on the emissions reductions achieved through the proposed actions. All pollutant reductions are looked upon favorably, but particulate matter, NOx, and VOC reductions will be weighted most heavily. Other factors to be considered in the decision-making process are the cost-effectiveness of the project, and the economic characteristics, geographic location, and size of the school district. Applications are expected to be submitted in a complete and professional manner. If the applicant is so inclined, supplemental information/documentation which further demonstrates the necessity or urgency of receiving the requested funding may also be submitted for consideration; this type of information could include, but is not limited to a) other efforts made to secure funding or b) how the proposed project fits into a broader school district health/environmental policy or initiative.
